Psychiatrist, scientist, and sociologist Wilhelm Reich used the phrase “emotional plague” to describe how emotional sickness is transmitted through societies, and the concept also applies in my view to how this plague is passed interpersonally from person to person.
I understand that you are a fan of Reich, and am grateful to you for making his writing accessible to me. I am a fan of Jung, I do, however, reference other psychiatrists and scientists occasionally.
Yes, I’ve been interested in Reich since I was 20 years old, 50 years ago. 36 years ago, I decided to go back to college in order to become a psychiatrist and learn Reich’s way of thinking and working. I had never finished college originally and my credits were old so I had to start from scratch at NYU in 1989. Med school 1993-1997, psychiatry residency and fellowship 1997–2002, private practice since then. I dedicated my life to Reich and helping people.
