The principle of love

To me, love is not just something one feels towards another person. It’s something that is inside of you before and after you ever loved that person or were loved by them. It is a capacity that you have, a potential that you have. A love relationship with a lover or a friend or anything else is something you were always capable of. It comes from within you; and then it mingles with the capacity for love in the other. It is an act of creation that begins in both of you and that continues afterwards in some form. It looks for a home. It brings gifts with it, like Santa Claus, to that home. And then it goes back to the “North Pole” to wait until the next “Christmas,” the next Season of Giving.
